TIMON OF ATHENS (Adaptation of the play by William Shakespeare and Thomas Middleton)

This version originated with an Oregon Shakespeare Festival commission. The terms of the commission were to create a text that, while remaining faithful to the meaning and poetry of the original, is nevertheless entirely intelligible from beginning to end to a contemporary audience while also being dramtically effective. After two readings, one in New York, the other at the OSF headquarters in Ashland, Oregon, in March of 2014 this version received its World Premiere at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, directed by Geoffrey Sherman, and starring Anthony Cochrane as Timon. It was received with acclaim by both audiences and press.
