For a summer, while the Stratford Memorial Theatre company was free from rehearsal commitments, I worked with John Barton on a variety of experiments, using the texts of my translations of different classical Greek tragedies and comedies. They included BACCHAE, by Euripides, excerpts of Aeschylus' AGAMEMNON, a complete translation of Aristophanes' THESMOPHORIAZUSAE, directed by Joe Strick, while John himself worked on his own adaptation of various dialogues of Plato.
